Ember · Support for the newborn season

Built to hold you as you transition into motherhood.

Ember is for the pregnant mama and the brand-new one. A written guide to the newborn season, an hour with me, a short video series on sleep in the earliest weeks, and a follow-up when the dust settles. Everything I wish someone had put in one place for me.

  • Before birth or after
  • Virtual
  • From a newborn care specialist and mom of 2
Heather Ledgerwood, Integrative Infant Sleep and Well-being Practitioner

Dear mama,

It started when my first was born. She was awe-inspiring. The instant euphoria was palpable, and I thought that rush would last forever. It lasted for about two weeks.

No one prepared us for the constant ups and downs, not really. They tell you "back is best," but also "breast is best." They tell you babies eat every three hours, but they don't mention that's an average maximum. I remember getting nipple balm as a baby shower gift, but when it came to cluster feeding, it wasn't a paste I needed. It wasn't a pump or even a bottle of formula.

It was support.

Ember is that support, put in one place. What's normal and what isn't. Safe sleep without the fear. The few things you'll actually need. An hour with someone who has read the research and lived the nights. And a reminder, in writing, that you are doing this right.

With love, Heather

Is Ember for me?

For the mother at the very beginning.

Ember is for you if…

  • You're pregnant and you'd rather walk in prepared than learn it all at 3 AM.
  • You're home with a brand-new baby and every voice in your life has a different rule.
  • You want safe sleep and what's normal straight from someone who has read the research, not a comment thread.
  • You want to protect your own healing, not only keep the baby alive.

It may not be the right fit if…

  • Your baby is already out of the newborn phase. A Candlelight Chat or Fireside is built for 4 months and up.
  • You want a schedule for a newborn. Newborns don't keep schedules, and I won't pretend otherwise.
  • You want a method that acts as a "quick fix."

What you receive

Four pieces, one place.

As a newborn care specialist, I know how much comfort there is in having this information in one space.

1

The written guide

A document covering the newborn season, yours to keep and reread at 3 AM.

  • Newborn must-haves
  • Normal vs. red flags
  • Safe sleep 101
  • General reassurances
2

A 60-minute virtual chat

An hour for you: your questions, your baby, your body. Partners are welcome on the call. Use it any time before your baby is 4 months old, once you have been through the guide and the videos.

3

A short video series

Watch them in the rocking chair, in pieces, whenever you have ten minutes.

  • Sleep shaping
  • Sleep normalcy
  • Protecting the healing period
4

A follow-up email

A check-in once you've had time to settle in, so the hour doesn't end when the call does.

Buying while pregnant?

The guide and videos are waiting for you, and we book your hour whenever you want it, before birth or after.

Already home with your baby?

You'll have the guide right away, and we find an hour by 4 months.

Questions

Questions you might have

Should I buy Ember before my baby arrives, or after?

Either. If you're pregnant, the guide and videos are waiting for you and we book your hour whenever you want it. If your baby is already here, you'll have the guide today and we find an hour this week.

What's in the written guide?

Newborn must-haves, normal vs. red flags, safe sleep 101, and general reassurances. As a newborn care specialist, I know how much comfort there is in having this information in one space.

Do you work with breastfeeding families?

Yes! As a certified child nutritionist, I'm passionate about protecting breastfeeding relationships. I never push early weaning. We can absolutely improve sleep while maintaining night feeds as long as you and baby need them. Your feeding journey is respected and protected.

Can my partner join the call?

Absolutely! Partners are welcome on any and all calls. Having everyone on the same page makes implementation so much smoother.

Is this really different from cry-it-out?

Absolutely. Cry-it-out methods rely on leaving your baby alone to "self-soothe." My approach never asks you to ignore your baby's cries. Instead, we work WITH your baby's natural biology and attachment needs, gradually building independent sleep skills while you remain a responsive, supportive presence.

Money is tight right now. Should I wait?

Please don't stretch past what's kind to your family.

If you want support now, there are other paths: Encircled is $47 and welcomes newborns, and a Kindling Call is free.

What happens after I pay?

You'll land on a welcome page and get an email with your written guide, the video series, and a link to book your hour.

Scheduling and cancellation details are in the Terms of Service.

When the mother heals, her baby thrives.

The newborn season, held. A guide, an hour, and someone who remembers how it felt.
