Hey, I’m Heather.

If you made it this far, I know you are a tired mom that just needs answers. No more BS that just makes you feel like a bad mom or like you are missing out on the secret puzzle piece everyone on social media seems to have. Sleep training sounds like a nightmare and leaving your child to cry turns your stomach.

Did I guess pretty close?

That’s because I’ve been there.

My first daughter was a VIP member of the Anti-Sleep Club. I lost more hair from stress than I did from being postpartum and stringing together a coherent thought was a ridiculous notion meant for past me.

Around 8 months in, I decided enough was enough. I obtained my first sleep certification! I was so jazzed that I would be able to help other moms get over the hurdles of sleep deprivation…but I was wrong. Well, sleep consulting (aka sleep training) was wrong for me.

Until

I dived into the world of attachment. I now have multiple certifications under my belt that focus on the whole child and family, rather than quick fix band aides. I fell in love with attachment and child development and I want to use that passion to help families (like yours) find realistic answers.

I am NOT a sleep trainer. I am a coach that helps educate families on what they are experiencing, why it is normal (or not), and how to fit the pieces together.

Sleep is a journey.

Sleep looks different for everyone and changes through each stage of life. I think that by approaching sleep in small steps, rather than fighting upstream, we honor the whole child. Not just quick fix solutions that have a shelf life.

Your baby is growing into their normal and generic just won’t cut it. You are healing from the draining months that were pregnancy, your birth experience, and more.

Sleep doesn’t need to be stressful and it isn’t one plan sleeps all. Sleep isn’t an elusive creature, nor does it need to be the reason for our broken nightmares.

Let’s change your view on sleep so that: you sleep better, have the confidence to trust your instincts, and march to your family’s natural rhythm.

Why The Nurture Spot?

  • Biologically normal sleep isn’t crying it out. Nor is it sleeping through the night by four months. BUT, if there is a piece of your sleep journey that isn’t working for you, I can help!

  • How many times have you skipped a meal this month? Week? I can help you get back on the nutritional track you deserve.

    OR

Confused on where to start with solids? Have a picky toddler on your hands? We can discuss how food goes hand in hand with sleep and overall wellness.

  • Do you feel like your natural instincts went out the window when your baby was born? When everything feels confusing or overwhelming, I help you sift through the unnecessary so you can get back to bonding with your baby.

  • Did you know a HUGE piece of the sleep puzzle rests in the world of child development? Helping you understand how attachment plays a role in sleep is part of why I do what I do. What can I say? I’m a developmental psychology nerd.

Why is my approach different?

There is never a moment where you don’t get to call the shots.

You know your baby better than anyone else.

I won’t give you a copy and paste sleep plan, instead we will delve into what you and your baby need at this point of your journey.

Mixing attachment, instincts, science, and nutrition, you can rest easy knowing that response is part of the plan.

  • Do you need biological sleep foundations? We can talk about child development and the biological normalcy that is infant and toddler sleep.

  • Are you at your wits end and need a coach to talk with to ensure your sleep hygiene is on the right track? Let me grab my coffee.

  • Are you starting solids and just don’t know where to start? Let’s talk baby led weaning vs. purees. I’ll go over the nutritional questions you are laden with.

  • Have you been skipping meals? Let’s get your nutritional needs figured out and steer you down the right healing path.

You aren’t in this alone.

Together we can get your little one sleeping.

I’ve walked in your shoes.

Let’s get honest.

Sometimes those wakeups are full of cuddles and sweet, milk drunk smiles. Others you just want to rip your hair out and scream.

That is NORMAL.

You don’t have to love every single minute. But its also ok if you do! That is what makes a sleep coach so valuable.

When you have an expert to talk to, it makes sorting through the science and the BS manageable. Especially when sleep deprivation is holding the reigns.

Let me ease your worries and help you focus on your bond with your baby, without asking you to give up control.

Where to next?
